Increased FDG uptake in paravertebral, bilateral supra-infraclavicular and axillary areas, consistent with brown fat tissue.

Patients with lower body mass index (BMI), younger people, females, and those exposed to colder environments tend to show more frequent brown adipose tissue (BAT) uptake on FDG PET scans. These trends indicate that both physiological factors, such as age and gender, and environmental conditions, like exposure to cold, significantly influence BAT activity.
